Marla Dalton, PE, CAE
Executive Director, National Foundation for Infectious Diseases
Effective July 2013, Marla Dalton was named Executive Director of the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID), a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to educating the public and healthcare professionals about the causes, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases. As chief staff officer, she provides continuing leadership and direction for NFID in furthering its mission and assuring the organization and its programs, products, and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive manner. She joined NFID in 2010 as Senior Director, Education and Public Outreach, responsible for developing and implementing strategies to integrate public and professional education on vaccine-preventable diseases, expanding strategic partnerships and coalitions including more than 50 partner organizations, and managing communications outreach initiatives including website properties.
Prior to joining NFID, she served as Senior Vice President of Education and Consulting Services at the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (APIC) where she was responsible for the development and management of APIC’s educational programs (live and online) and products as well as APIC Consulting Services, Inc., a wholly-owned, for-profit subsidiary. Prior to joining APIC, Marla was Executive Vice President of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Industry Leaders Council and Executive Director of The Infrastructure Security Partnership.
Marla is a Certified Association Executive and a registered professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives.
