Ph.D., CEO of Food Safety Systems
James Marsden, Ph.D., is the CEO of Food Safety Systems and was Executive Director of Food Safety at Chipotle, where he oversaw all their food safety programs, and still serves as a leader on their Advisory Council. He has over forty years’ experience in the industry, with a specialty in working with government officials and regulators, including advising the White House on food safety, and testifying on numerous occasions to the United States Congress and the Food and Drug Administration. James has experience at food companies, trade associations and in academia, is an inventor, and a recognized food safety thought leader, authoring numerous scientific publications, books, and articles.

Hal King, Ph.D., is the President and CEO of Public Health Innovations LLC and is a leader on Chipotle’s Food Safety Advisory Council. He is formerly the Director of Food and Product Safety at Chick-fil-A Inc., where he designed and led their food safety management program. As a public health professional and thought leader, he has been the author and co-author of numerous peer-reviewed research publications and books, contributed to the investigation of foodborne outbreaks for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and performed funded research on causation of diseases at Emory University School of Medicine’s Division of Infectious Diseases.
