Nearly three years ago, we launched the GOJO® SMARTLINK™ Observation (OBV) System, a mobile application that connects to GOJO® SMARTLINK™ web-based software and allows for the electronic collection and collation of hand hygiene and personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance metrics.
The OBV System allows observers to collect hand hygiene and PPE observations using either a smartphone or tablet. Once collected, the data is then automatically collated and sent to the GOJO® SMARTLINK™ software for easy, real-time reporting and feedback.
This solution was designed with the healthcare professional in mind. And, since its launch, we have worked to create an easier and more intuitive experience with the OBV system. In addition to standardized data sets and automated reporting, the app now includes the following new features:
- A Monthly Observation Count allows observers to access a running count of their total observations for the month on the app’s landing page, which will reset to zero on the first of each month. This gives observers a quick and easy way to keep track of their monthly observation goals.
- A Session Submission Validation screen will now appear after the submission of an observation session. This allows observers to ensure that all session data was successfully submitted to the GOJO® SMARTLINK™ Software platform.
By using the OBV System, infection prevention (IP) professionals can easily analyze and utilize hand hygiene and PPE compliance observation data. This system is designed to increase the standardization of data, which in turn, provides more accurate and detailed reporting. Plus, it will save IP professionals hours of desk work each month by eliminating the need to transcribe data and create reports.
